Like many personal websites, mine started as an effort to learn html. From there it became a place to store information that I might want to access from anywhere, like song lyrics or a list of books I've read. The site next became a place to store information that I hope other people may find interesting, like my research. Finally, the site became a soapbox, where I could post my thoughts through a blog.
During this evolution, each previous use remained as a new one became dominant. For instance, I'm now a competent Perl, PHP, UNIX shell script and mySQL programmer thanks to continuing to update my site.
Please enjoy it!
